Pantry Items
We provide the ingredients that make the recipe the recipe.
We do assume you have a few everyday basics at home, and individual dinner descriptions will always tell you what you’ll need.
Pantry Basics
- Butter
- Cooking oil
- Salt & pepper
- Flour
- Sugar
- Vinegar
Occasionally Needed
Some recipes may also call for an everyday refrigerated or condiment staple, such as:
- Eggs
- Milk
- Common condiments
Don’t Have Something?
Don’t worry.
Our recipes are written with flexibility in mind. If you’re missing a pantry ingredient, you can usually substitute something similar or simply leave it out.
For example, if a recipe calls for vinegar, the variety you already have at home will often work just fine.
What Each Dinner Needs
You won’t have to guess.
Every Homegrown Foods dinner already has its pantry and equipment requirements stored with the recipe. Those details are shown with your selected dinners in My Menus and in your customer order emails, so you’ll know what to have on hand before it’s time to cook.
Basic Kitchen Equipment
Recipes assume a normally equipped home kitchen with basic pots, pans, baking sheets, knives and cooking utensils.
If a dinner calls for something less universal—such as a grill, kebab sticks or another optional tool—we’ll note that with the dinner.
